BLOGMAS Day 5: Tulip Festival

BLOGMAS Day 5: Tulip Festival

These pictures are from an outing to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point, Utah.  It's an annual event in April and May that celebrates spring with about a quarter million tulips in full bloom.  All the beautiful colors left me in awe.  Man, I love flowers!

We went together with Spencer's parents on their last visit to Utah.  We spent almost the entire afternoon walking through the park.  I don't know why I've never been there before, it is gorgeous!  A meandering brick pathway led us onward through the beautiful gardens.  We followed the many winding paths through the park, including one through the secret garden, up past a beautiful waterfall and then past the large artificial waterfall bridge where we saw a real owl sitting in her nest.

At the end of the afternoon, clouds covered the sun and it got so chilly that I had to wear my emergency leggings.  I was not happy about my outfit as this leggings and dress ensemble matched what the five year old girls in the park.  Oh well...

It was a lot of fun and active family day.
