The short but steep Timpanogos Cave National Monument hike is a killer, but as survivors we got to enjoy the beautiful views down American Fork Canyon and the cave formations inside the caves in the mountain top.

Here we are smiling at the beginning of the 1.5 miles hike. Here we go 1,100 feet elevation gain of nearly 1,100 ft.

And now into the cave.
As you can see from the picture above, there are three different are three different caverns and unlike any cave I have ever been to in Europe the passageways in these caves were extremely narrow. I thought it was fascinating that the stalk crack in he rock, a fault line, was visible at the ceiling of the cave. I understand that this might sound scary, but it was a really amazing experience to stand in a cave right underneath such a big crack in the earth.
